The range
One piece of fabric on a tube. Nothing to collect dust, nothing to catch on a bench, and you can have the same fabric in light-filter or blockout across a whole house so the outside of the building looks consistent.
Good forKitchens, bathrooms, laundries, anywhere that gets wiped down.
A blind that behaves like a curtain. It stacks into soft folds at the top, so you get the warmth of fabric in a window that has no room for a curtain to hang beside it.
Good forWindow seats, dining nooks, rooms where a curtain would be in the way.
Tilting blades, in timber or a composite that will not warp. The only product that lets you have privacy and a view at the same time, because you are choosing the angle rather than the height.
Good forStreet-facing rooms, bathrooms, studies. Composite for anywhere with steam.
Blades that rotate and stack to one side. They handle a very wide or very tall window better than anything else, and a heavier modern blade does not rattle the way the old ones did.
Good forSliding doors, home offices, full-height glass.
Built to the window and hinged to clear your handles and latches. They are the only window covering that adds to a house rather than sitting in front of it, and they last as long as the window does.
Good forQueenslanders, bay windows, anywhere you want it done once.
Mesh or clear PVC on a crank or a motor. Closing in two sides of a deck usually buys back the whole afternoon, and it makes the room behind the deck noticeably cooler as well.

Child safety
Loose cords and chains are the one part of this trade with a real safety standard behind it, and the fix is easy. Springs, wands, cranks and motors all do the same job without anything hanging down.
Motorised is the simplest answer of all in a kids room: nothing to reach, nothing to pull, and a wall switch or a phone does the work. If you already have corded blinds elsewhere in the house, mention it at the measure and we will fit safety cleats to those at no charge while we are there.

Stairwell voids, high gable windows, and the row of glass above the kitchen that has not moved since the house was built. A rechargeable motor takes about a year between charges and runs on a timer, a remote, or a switch on the wall.
It is not only for hard-to-reach windows. Plenty of people put it on the main living room curtains simply because opening six metres of sheers by hand every morning gets old.
